2025 Kent Summer Art Exhibit

The Kent Arts Commission invites artists to participate in the 2025 Kent Summer Art Exhibit. An Awards Panel will award a total of $10,000 to one or more artists to receive The City Art Purchase Award. The panel will also choose between 6-8 artists to receive the 2026 Kent Arts Commission Centennial Center Gallery Exhibit Award. Artists are eligible to receive multiple awards. All participating artists and their guests will be invited to the Summer Art Exhibit Reception on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 (6:00-7:30 pm).

The exhibition will be juried by the Exhibition Panel, composed of regional arts professionals. Selection will be based foremost on artistic merit, with consideration given to variety of media, compelling themes, cultural or ethnic diversity, and suitability for public display. Kent residents and first-time applicants are encouraged to apply. The Awards Panel will consider all artworks for purchase awards and gallery exhibits, with selection based on artistic merit, representation of established and emerging artists, variety of media and themes, cultural or ethnic diversity, and appropriate scale and suitability for public display.

Work must be framed or otherwise ready for display and protected from incidental damage. All work must be wired or have backing to hang on a hook. Work must be for sale; the City of Kent charges a 25% commission on work sold during the exhibit. Artists are responsible for delivery and pick-up of artwork. The City of Kent provides insurance for artworks while on display at the Centennial Center Gallery. Eligible artists must reside in Washington State. Applicants should submit up to ten images of currently available artworks with brief descriptions including title, medium, date completed, size, and sale price including sales tax, along with a short narrative explaining interest in the exhibition and general artistic approach. Exhibition dates are June 4 – August 21, 2025.
