2025 Hotel Willa Artist in Residence, Taos, NM

The Hotel Willa Artist-in-Residence Program, activated by The Paseo Project, invites artists across all disciplines to apply for the 2025 residency in Taos, New Mexico. This four-week residency offers a unique opportunity to live and create in the vibrant cultural landscape of Taos, surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Southwest. Artists will have the time, space, and inspiration to develop new work in a supportive, immersive environment, with the freedom to focus on their creative process.

The program is open to emerging, mid-career, and professional creatives from anywhere in the world working in any art form, including visual arts, performing arts, music, literature, multimedia, culinary, and interdisciplinary projects. At this time, the program is not able to accommodate couples or families. There is no community engagement requirement; artists are encouraged to use the time for their own creative process.

Artists are provided a private one-bedroom suite on site at Hotel Willa with a small kitchenette, located downtown within a five-minute walk to Taos Plaza. A private, on-site studio space is provided, outfitted with work surfaces, chair, easel, trash can, sink, desk lamp, rolling cart, and cutting mat. A bike is available for use during the residency. There is no financial support offered at this time; artists are responsible for travel, materials, and meals but will receive on-site restaurant discounts and vouchers. Artists must provide all necessary technical equipment for their work. A car is recommended as public transportation is limited.
