2025 Great Northern Art Explosion

AuSable Artisan Village presents the annual international art exhibition 2025 Great Northern Art Explosion, offering $8,000 in awards. The juried show will be held at AuSable Artisan Village Performing Arts Center in downtown Grayling, Michigan (122 Michigan Ave., Grayling, Michigan 49738). The exhibition runs from the opening reception on August 22, 2025, through the award ceremony on September 7, 2025. Artists in all styles and mediums are welcome to apply with no specific theme required.

Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years or older. All artwork must be original in concept and execution. Artists working in all media are encouraged to apply, including oils, acrylic, watercolor, photography, mixed media, ceramics, wood, metal, jewelry, sculpture, and fabric. Due to space limitations, the maximum artwork size is 48 inches in width and 108 inches in height. Work must have been completed in the last two years and not previously shown in any Great Northern Art Explosion exhibit.

Submission Requirements: Submit 1-3 images per entry. Entry fee is $40 (non-refundable). Submission deadline is July 20, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of acceptance will be sent by July 31, 2025. Artists may ship work or deliver in person between August 15-18, 2025 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Shipped artwork must arrive no later than August 18, 2025. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance.

Awards: Grand Prize $2,500, Second Place $1,000, Third Place $500 (Juror Awards); Grand Prize $2,500, Second Place $1,000, Third Place $500 (People's Choice Awards). No artwork will receive more than one award. Artwork pickup is available September 7-14, 2025, during normal business hours.
