About This Call
This is an international juried online competition open to all artists 18 years of age and older working in oil and acrylic mediums. Both NOAPS members and non-members may apply. Up to 200 artworks will be accepted into the show and eligible for awards.
Artwork must be original two-dimensional works completed in the last three years, limited to oil and acrylic paints only. No mixed media, painted giclee prints, digital reproductions, or artwork created using artificial intelligence are eligible. Artwork cannot have been previously accepted in any other NOAPS National Exhibit or NOAPS Online Exhibition. Artists may use their own photos as reference materials but not photos from other sources. No artwork copied from other artists' work, published photos, or created in an instructional setting are eligible. There is no minimum or maximum size requirement.
Awards include: Best of Show ($1000), Second Place ($500), Third Place ($300), Best Landscape ($200), Best Still Life ($200), Best People ($200), Best Use of Light & Color ($200), Most Innovative ($200), Narrative Excellence ($200), Ten Awards of Excellence ($100 each), and Ten Merit Awards (1 year NOAPS membership valued at $62). Certificates will be sent to award-winning artists; those outside North America will receive certificates by email only. Award payments are made through PayPal unless otherwise specified.
Submissions must be high-quality JPEG files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30MB. Images must show only the artwork with no visible matting, frames, or background. Entry fees are non-refundable. Only one application per artist is permitted, with a maximum of 5 works per entry. Selected paintings will be showcased on NOAPS.org, in the NOAPS Blog, and on NOAPS social media. By entering, artists consent to having reproductions of their work used for promotion of the exhibit. For questions, contact [email protected].
