2025 Convergence of Creativity Juried Exhibit: The Shape of Things

The City of San Ramon presents Convergence of Creativity: The Shape of Things, a juried exhibition open to artists 16 years and older. This exhibition invites artists to examine the forms, structures, and outlines that define our visual and conceptual world. From literal geometry to abstract patterns, from organic silhouettes to manmade architecture, the show explores how shape serves as both a foundation and a language in artistic expression. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly through formal exploration, metaphor, or narrative, considering how shapes inform perception, identity, space, emotion, or transformation.

Visual media accepted include painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, digital art, mixed media, printmaking, textiles, and ceramics. The exhibition seeks to highlight a wide range of approaches from minimalist to maximalist, figurative to abstract. Two-dimensional work may not exceed 30" x 40" including frame and must be under 40 lbs. Three-dimensional work should not exceed 18" x 18" x 18" and be under 50 lbs. Work must be original and created entirely by the entering artist (no AI-generated work). Pieces displayed in last year's juried exhibits are not eligible. Work cannot contain nudity, violence, or otherwise inappropriate imagery or themes.

Entry fee is $15 per work, plus a 3.25% convenience fee (non-refundable). Artists may submit up to 3 works. Submit applications via CaFE with jpeg images and an artist statement of 200 words or less describing each entry and how it relates to the theme. Selections will be made by blind jury. The exhibition runs November 14 - December 17 at Lindsay Dirkx Brown Gallery, 12501 Alcosta Blvd., San Ramon, CA 94583. Artwork drop-off is November 6-7, 8:30am-8:30pm. The public artists' reception is November 15, 6pm-8:00pm. Awards include Best in Show ($150 gift certificate), Blue Ribbon ($100), Red Ribbon ($75), and White Ribbon ($50) per category.
