About This Call
The 2025 AWA Annual Online Juried Show is open to all AWA Members in good standing. Applications may be submitted from Friday, January 24, 2025 through Monday, March 17, 2025, with finalists announced by Monday, March 31, 2025.
Eligible entries include representational or abstract works in the following mediums: drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, and sculpture. All subjects and styles are eligible, from traditional to contemporary. Work must be original; 2D works must have been completed within the last two years, with no required timeframe for 3D works. Works may not have been accepted for a previous AWA national juried museum competition or online juried show. Acceptable mediums for painting include oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, egg tempera, encaustic, mixed media, and batik. Drawing mediums include conte crayon, colored pencil, graphite, pen & ink, scratchboard, charcoal, and original hand-pulled prints. Sculpture mediums include cast metal, fabricated metal, stone, glass, wood, and fired permanent mediums such as terra cotta, stoneware, porcelain, and earthenware. Non-acceptable mediums include craft, jewelry, fiber, fabric, photography, video, digital prints including giclee, or any work containing computer-generated elements. Work must be created by the artist without supervision or as part of a class or workshop, and must be original and from the artist's own reference, not copied from other artists or published materials. All artwork must be originally drawn and not created on top of any photographic image. Works do not have to be for sale; sold works may be submitted by entering NFS in the entry form. As this is an online show, there is no size restriction on submitted work. Maximum entries are three per artist, with a maximum of one piece of artwork per accepted artist juried into the online show.
Image submissions must be original, high-quality JPEG files at least 1920 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images should be cropped to include only the artwork itself with no visible matting, frames, or background distractions, and must be oriented correctly. Awards include a Grand Prize of $2,000 cash and a month-long featured artwork on FineArtConnoisseur.com valued at $1,000, Second Place of $1,500 cash and a $529 gift certificate to Fuji Spray, Third Place of $1,000 cash and a 12-color set of M Graham Artist Paints, and numerous additional category and merit awards ranging from $100 to $500 cash with accompanying gift certificates. By submitting images, artists understand that accepted images will be displayed on the AWA website, Facebook or Instagram page, and other social and/or print media. Artists retain copyright to their images. All membership and entry fees are non-refundable.
