2025 Artworks Northwest Biennial

Umpqua Valley Arts Association (UVA) invites artists to submit work to the 2025 Artworks Northwest Biennial, a juried exhibition for artists residing in the Pacific Northwest. This multi-media showcase of contemporary practices is open to all media except video, with space for 100+ works of art. Artworks are selected by an invited curator who resides and works in the Pacific Northwest. The 2025 curator is Charlene Liu, a Professor of Art and Printmaking at the University of Oregon whose work explores visual expressions of multiplicity, movement, and transformation through a broad palette of materials and approaches.

Eligible artists must reside in Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, British Columbia, Western Montana, or Western Wyoming. Artwork must have been completed within the last three years and not previously exhibited at UVA. Artists may submit up to 5 entries in any media except video. All work must be original, signed, and not exceed 60" on its longest side, fit through a standard 3-foot wide door, and weigh less than 50 lbs. Fine art prints are eligible if signed, numbered, and in a limited edition of 125 or less. Entry fee is $35. Submissions are made digitally through CaFE with JPEG files (minimum 1920 pixels on longest side, 72 ppi, up to 5 MB).

Cash awards include 1st Place: $500, 2nd Place: $250, 3rd Place: $150, and J. Lynn Peterson Award: $100. The submission deadline is March 28, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified April 29, 2025. Art delivery to UVA is June 2, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with the opening reception on June 6 at 4 p.m.–7 p.m. The exhibition runs through August 15, 2025. Artwork pickup is August 18, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with shipped work due no later than September 8. UVA commission rates are 30% for members and 40% for non-members.
