About This Call

The 2025 Art on Loan Program, administered by the South Suburban Public Art Committee (SSPAC), is accepting proposals from Colorado artists to promote and highlight local and regional artwork. The program is a year-long outdoor exhibit designed to promote public interest in art, develop community pride, and enhance the visitor experience at two locations: Goodson Recreation Center (Centennial) and The Hudson Gardens & Events Center (Littleton).

SPPAC seeks applications for up to three sculptures to be placed at Goodson Recreation Center and up to two at The Hudson Gardens & Event Center. At Goodson, sculptures will be displayed on three existing concrete pads (36" diameter, approximately 18" height) near the main entrance, each with an embedded steel plate (24" x 24" x 1/2") for welding. Sculptures must fit on the provided pads and cannot exceed 4,000 pounds. At Hudson Gardens, two outdoor display pedestals will be constructed with no size restriction, but sculptures cannot exceed 4,000 pounds. Proposed sculptures must be appropriate for outdoor public display, of high artistic quality, original works, durable, non-breakable, relatively maintenance-free, and meet public safety and structural integrity standards. Sculptures must be composed of parts not easily damaged by weather or vandalism and must be available for sale.

Eligibility is open to all artists residing in Colorado with appropriate background, experience, and reputation. Each application represents one artwork and should include three different images of the same work (up to five images allowed). Artists may submit up to 10 different pieces, one per application. Entry fee is $10.00. A $500 Exhibitor's Honorarium is provided to each selected artist after artwork installation in June 2025. The artist is responsible for transporting artwork to and from the venue, providing an appropriate pedestal if required, making necessary modifications for mounting, and insuring their own work. If artwork is sold, the artist must pay a 20% commission to SSPRD. SSPRD will assist with offloading, equipment operation for lifting and welding, de-installation, and will supply a plaque identifying the title, artist, contact information, and price. The exhibition period is one year, with de-installation in June 2026.
