2025 Annual Exhibition of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina

The Watercolor Society of North Carolina invites water media artists to submit work for the 2025 Annual Exhibition, held September 28 – November 2, 2025 at Wilson Arts Center, 204 Nash St S, Wilson NC 27893. The exhibition is juried by Michael Holter and offers over $5,000 in cash and merchandise awards.

Eligibility: Open to current 2025 members of WSNC at the time of application. Artists may submit two entries (only one may be accepted). Artwork must be original work created since January 1, 2022, and not previously exhibited in a WSNC statewide juried exhibition or submitted to the WSNC Online Member Exhibition. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, watercolor pencil/sticks/crayon, gouache, water-based ink, casein, and egg tempera on watercolor paper, watercolor board, clay board, or Yupo. Maximum frame size is 44" in any direction with non-decorative frames ready to hang with wire. Minimum image size (not including mat or frame) is 80 square inches. No collage, pastels, water-based oils, digital images, prints, reproductions, or AI-produced artwork are permitted.

Entry fee is $40. Digital images must be submitted in JPEG or JPG format with file size under 5 MB, at least 1,200 pixels on the longest side, showing only the painting image without frame or mat. Deadline for entries is July 14, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. All accepted works must be for sale; Wilson Arts Center handles sales with a 35% commission. Artists accepted into three separate statewide WSNC exhibitions or winning a place award (1st–5th) in two are eligible for Signature Member status.
