About This Call
In its ninth year, the City of Westminster's Sculpture on Loan Program provides an opportunity for artists to display their work in the Vicky Bunsen Sculpture Garden Park and as part of the Downtown Westminster Art Walk. Up to fourteen sculptures will be selected for display during the 2025-2026 program. The selected artwork will be on display from late May/early June 2025 through late May/early June 2026.
Sculptures must be garden size or larger with a minimum of 3 feet in one dimension, designed and fabricated for long-term outdoor durability. Acceptable materials include metal, stone, or similarly durable materials; wood will not be accepted. Sculptures taller than 12 feet require a certified engineer stamp of approval. Artwork must be able to be welded or bolted to a metal display base, bolted to a concrete pad, or bolted to a sidewalk. All artwork must be available for purchase. Artists selected will receive a $750 honorarium after acceptance and installation. If artwork is removed through sale or other reasons, a sculpture of equal or greater value must be installed within 7 days.
Applications must be submitted online through CaFE (callforentry.org) with 1-5 images showing front and back viewpoints. There is no entry fee. Required information includes artist bio, artwork description (including dimensions, weight, and medium), current condition, artwork value (maximum $75,000), appraisal certificate, proof of authenticity, inspiration description, construction techniques, and base/attachment method. The jury will review applications based on materials, presentation, aesthetic quality, craftsmanship, appropriateness, maintenance requirements, and financial considerations. Notification of selection is May 5, 2025.
