About This Call
The 2024 Wyoming Sheep & Wool Festival Art and Woolcraft Show takes place July 12-14, 2024 at Hot Springs County Fairgrounds in Thermopolis, WY. The exhibition is open to artists over 18 whose work reflects sheep and wool industries. Three categories are available: Fine Art-2-D (drawing, painting, photography, digital art, printmaking, 2-D mixed media), Fine Art-3-D (glass, jewelry, metal, sculpture, 3-D mixed media, clay, wood), and Woolcraft Show (objects created specifically with wool from sheep).
Entry fee is $15 per entry, with a $15 media fee. Submissions open March 1st with an entry deadline of June 15th at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Applicants may submit 1-10 images and/or 0-10 videos (maximum 10 total samples). Acceptance notifications will be sent June 23rd. Artwork must arrive by July 10th via mail or by 9 a.m. on July 12th for in-person delivery. A return label must be included with artwork for return shipping of unsold items.
Total cash prizes of $800 are available, including $250 for Grand Champion, $100 for Reserve Champion, and category placings of $75 (1st), $50 (2nd), and $25 (3rd). Additional awards include the Fine Art-2-D category winner receiving 2025 Festival poster art, plus Children's Choice and People's Choice awards. A reception is held Friday, July 12th at 6 p.m., with awards announced Saturday, July 13th at 7 p.m. Unsold artwork will be returned July 15-19th via carrier of choice. Entry to the auction is optional and should be indicated upon application submission.
