2024 West Texas Watercolor Society Signature Show

The West Texas Watercolor Society (WTWS) invites artists to submit work for the 2024 Signature Show, hosted by the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, Texas. The exhibition runs from December 29, 2024 through January 12, 2025, with an opening reception during First Friday Art Trail on December 6, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Eligibility is open to all WTWS members. Membership dues of $40 for 2024-2025 must be paid by November 2, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fees are $20 for the first entry and $15 per entry thereafter, with a maximum of three entries per artist. Artists may submit 1-3 digital images (JPEG/JPG format, minimum 1,200 pixels on longest side, under 5MB). All artwork must be original, completed within the last two years, and created using 90% water media (watercolor, gouache, acrylics, watercolor inks, acrylic inks, egg tempera, watercolor pencils, or watercolor crayons) on paper, yupo, Tyvek, water media board, or canvas. Minimum painted image size is 100 square inches; maximum framed size is 40 inches in either direction. Artwork on paper must be framed under clear glass or Plexiglass. Class or workshop art, artwork from previous WTWS judged shows, diptychs, triptychs, nudes, oils, water-soluble oils, alcohol inks, digital media, and photography are not eligible.

Over $1,500 in cash awards will be presented at the discretion of juror Dr. Candace Keller, including Best of Show ($1,000), 1st Place ($500), and additional awards. All accepted artwork will be included in a color catalog. Accepted artists are responsible for delivery or shipping artwork to the Buddy Holly Center by November 20, 2024. Local artists may hand-deliver between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; remote artists should ship via FedEx or UPS. Artwork will be returned the week of January 15, 2025.
