2024 Transparent Watercolor Society of America's 48th Annual National Exhibition

The Transparent Watercolor Society of America invites entries for its 48th Annual National Exhibition, held at the Kenosha Public Museum from May 4 to August 4, 2024. This national exhibition is open to residents of North America 18 years of age or older who are TWSA members in good standing. Entries must be original transparent watercolor paintings created after January 1, 2022, with no supervised instruction. Work previously exhibited in a TWSA exhibition is not eligible.

Entry requires submission of 1-2 images online by January 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST. The entry fee is $65 (which includes TWSA membership for new or renewing members), or $25 for prepaid members. Optional donations to the Awards Fund are $50 or $100. Accepted artists will be notified the first week of March. Paintings must be shipped to arrive between April 12-19, 2024. The exhibition features workshops and demonstrations by jurors Birgit O'Connor and Stephen Zhang on June 5-7 and June 10-12, with a reception and awards dinner on June 8.

Paintings must be transparent watercolor on rag or wood pulp paper, with a minimum mat opening of 8 x 10 inches and maximum frame size of 50 inches on any side. Opaque white paint, gesso, gouache, acrylics, collage, impasto, and varnish are not permitted. Mats must be white or off-white. The Screening Committee will examine all delivered paintings for compliance with exhibition requirements. Paintings not adhering to requirements will not be exhibited and will be returned at the artist's expense. Entry fees are non-refundable. For questions, contact [email protected].
