2024 TPS National Photography Award

The Texas Photographic Society announces the 2024 TPS National Photography Award, juried by Olivia Parker. This competition is open to artists residing in the United States who have a consistent body of photographic work. The award recipient will receive a solo exhibition at Sabine Street Studios on the Sawyer Yards campus in Houston, Texas, plus a $2,000 cash stipend to aid in the creation and presentation of the work. The exhibition will coincide with the 2024 FotoFest Biennial.

Submissions must include ten images and an artist's statement (up to 200 words). The award recipient's full exhibition will be based on the initial submission and include all submitted images. This call is open to all subject matter, aesthetic approaches, and photographic processes. Two-dimensional work is preferred (some three-dimensional work can be accommodated in support of 2-D work), and submissions from artists of all levels are encouraged. The juror may select up to 10 TPS National Photography Award Finalists for additional recognition.

Entry fee is $45 for non-members or $35 for TPS Members. Submissions must be digital JPG files only, with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side and 5 MB maximum. For each image, provide the title and the process (medium) used. The deadline for entry is January 30, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST. The award recipient will be announced February 19, 2024. Work is due at Sabine Street Studios by March 21, 2024. The exhibition opens March 28, 2024 and closes May 11, 2024. Selected artwork should be shipped ready-to-hang using wire or D-rings; plexiglass only (no glass). TPS will pay for return shipping within the United States. Current members of the TPS Board of Directors are not eligible for entry.
