About This Call
The Juried Visual Art Exhibition welcomes thousands of visitors over ten days at SPACE Gallery, 812 Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh's Cultural District. The exhibition will be displayed June 3–12, 2024, and extend through August 11, 2024. It will also be included in the Trust's Gallery Crawl on July 27, 2024. Admission is free and open to the public. Artworks may be featured in Festival press coverage and purchased by attendees for personal and corporate collections. Selected artists have been recruited to exhibit in solo and group shows through the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's gallery system and other galleries citywide. All accepted artists are invited to a private preview on May 30, 2024.
This year's theme welcomes submissions exploring connections between humans and animals, including companions, pets, wildlife, and creatures of myth or imagination. Work samples may include up to 5 images, 5 audio files, and 5 video files (minimum 1 total sample required). Awards include: Best in Show ($2,500, selected by all four jurors), Juror's Choice ($500, 4 total awards—1 from each juror), Special Anonymous Award ($500), and People's Choice ($500, voted by the general public).
All accepted artworks must be delivered in person and picked up at 812 Liberty Avenue per the acceptance letter schedule. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust does not provide artist stipends. Works may be offered for sale at the artist's discretion; the Festival receives a 20% commission on sales. If selected, artists must commit to exhibiting their work. Cancellations must be received in writing to Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival, 803 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 before March 31, 2024. Works selected for display may not be removed until the exhibition concludes. Failure to comply with the cancellation policy may result in denial from future Trust festivals.
