2024 Photography Show

The Spanish Peaks Arts Council (SPACe) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to the support and enrichment of the arts and art education in the Spanish Peaks region of southern Colorado. SPACe operates its art gallery in La Veta year round and invites photographers working in all forms of photography to enter the 2024 Photography Show. All subjects are eligible.

The entry fee is $35 for up to 4 images. Submitted pieces should be 30" wide or less, including the frame; smaller works are encouraged. SPACe members may use coupon code 24CPN to receive $5 off the entry fee. Photographers must submit 1-4 images and include a description of the methods used to create the works. Photography that has been shown in the SPACe Gallery or Gift Shop in the last 12 months will not be accepted. Submitted work must be the original concept and creation of the individual entering.

Steve Bigley, Imaging and Print Specialist and Photographer for Pueblo Community College, will judge the accepted photography for cash awards: First prize $1,000, Second prize $500, Third prize $300, and Honorable Mention $100 (2 awards). Notifications of accepted works will be sent by July 1. Shipped works must arrive by July 19; hand-delivered works must arrive by July 20. The exhibition runs July 30 - August 24, 2024, with an opening reception on Saturday, August 3, 5-7 pm, where awards will be presented. Winners will be notified by email after judging.
