2024 Olde Town Shindig: Mural Fest

The Olde Town Arvada Business Improvement District (BID) is hosting the 2nd Annual Olde Town Shindig: Mural Fest, a multi-day arts and music festival taking place September 6-8, 2024 in Olde Town Arvada. Selected artists will be stationed throughout Olde Town Arvada and produce an original work on a 6x6 primed panel during the event (painting dates September 6-7, with winners announced on the 7th). This is an opportunity for artists to compete for awards and recognition while raising awareness for the importance of art in public spaces. Selected artists will receive a $400 stipend upon check-in to help defray expenses.

People's Choice Awards: 1st place $2,000, 2nd place $1,000, 3rd place $750. The Grand Prize is an Artist Mural Commission Award: one artist will win a paid commission mural project (up to $10,000 including travel) working with a local business/property owner in Olde Town Arvada. The muralist and business owner will collaborate on the theme for the commissioned mural. Winners will be judged by a panel consisting of members of the Olde Town Arvada BID, the Arvada Center for Arts and Humanity, and the Arvada Arts and Culture Commission.

At the conclusion of the festival, all murals will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting the Olde Town Arvada BID's mission of creating and nurturing a vibrant and inclusive community. Entry fee is $25. Eligibility is regional; applicants must submit 1-5 images or videos of past work.
