About This Call
Skagit Artists, a 501(c)(3) organization, invites artists from Washington state to participate in the 20th annual NW Art Beat Open Studios Tour on July 20 and 21, 2024, from 10am to 6pm. This is a free, self-guided tour of Skagit County art studios featuring juried artists that showcases local talent and gives the public an insider view of working artists' studios.
Art must be shown in a working studio located in Skagit County that is appropriate for public visitation. If you do not have a studio in Skagit County or your studio is not suitable for public traffic, you may request to be hosted by another artist as part of your application. Skagit Artists will assist in finding suitable hosting space. If your application is accepted and no suitable studio becomes available, all fees will be refunded. Artists are responsible for insuring their own work and space.
Application deadline is February 25, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST. The non-refundable application fee is $35 for both members and non-members. If accepted, the participation fee is $175 for Skagit Artists members and $250 for non-members. Membership costs $60 annually and must be obtained by March 21, 2024 to qualify for the member rate. A sign fee of $75 is collected as a check when signs are distributed and returned when signs are returned. Notifications of accepted artists will be on or before March 7, 2024. Participation fees must be submitted by March 21, 2024. All participants from the 2023 tour must reapply for 2024.
Each participant is expected to collect and submit studio visitor information via an online form, distribute tour guides and hang posters, promote the event through contact lists and social media, and complete one additional promotional task (typically requiring 10 hours or less). Studio visitor information must be entered by August 1, 2024. Applicants must submit 4 JPEG images representing actual work that will be offered for sale. Eligibility is limited to artists in the state of Washington.
