About This Call
The 23rd Annual Lone Tree Fine Art Expo is a juried exhibition presented by the City of Lone Tree and the Lone Tree Arts Commission, running September 26th, 2024 – January 5th, 2025 at the Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons Street, Lone Tree, Colorado, 80124. Artists may submit up to three pieces in the following categories: Painting (oil, acrylic, tempera, encaustic), Drawing (pastel, pencil, charcoal), Watercolor, Mixed Media (collage or combination of any media), and Sculpture (cannot exceed 24"). The entry fee is $36 (non-refundable). Submissions must include one digital image per piece of artwork. Artists must be local or within driving distance; no work will be accepted by mail or delivery service.
Eligibility requirements: Artwork must be original in concept and designed and executed by the artist. Dimensions provided must be the final size including frame. Artwork should be non-offensive to a general audience of all ages. Work must have been completed within the last three years (2021-2024) and not previously shown in a Lone Tree art exhibition. Artwork must be available for purchase. Two-dimensional media cannot exceed 48", must be a minimum of 12", and cannot weigh more than 45 pounds. Three-dimensional artwork cannot exceed 24" and not weigh more than 75 pounds. All work must be dropped off in person on Tuesday, September 24th between 3pm – 6pm. Artwork must remain on display through the duration of the exhibit and cannot be picked up before Monday, January 6th between 3pm – 6pm.
Artwork must be gallery ready with appropriate hardware compatible with the Arakawa Hanging System (D-rings and picture wire required; saw tooth hangers and French cleats will not be accepted). Wall-mounted work may not exceed 45 pounds and must be framed (matting highly suggested) or gallery wrapped. Exposed glass edges are not acceptable. A label must be attached to the back identifying artist, title, category, and price. Artists will receive email notification by September 7th, 2024 of acceptance status. The juror is Gene Youngman, a Colorado plein air watercolorist. Awards include Best of Show, Commissioner's Choice, and First and Second Place in each category, with prize money awarded to winners. A 20% sales commission applies to all sales. Accepted artists may sell bin work at the opening reception (September 26th, 6:30pm – 8:30pm) only.
