2024 Juried Member Show

This is an in-gallery exhibition for Appalachian Pastel Society (APS) members. APS membership is required for entry and must be current for the year the show occurs. Members may submit up to 4 entries at $30 for 2 entries, $40 for 3 entries, or $50 for 4 entries. Each artist may have up to 2 paintings accepted into the show.

Artwork must be dry pastel with 80% of the exposed surface being dry pastel (no oil pastels). Maximum framed size is 30" x 30". Work must be original, completed within the last five years, and not previously exhibited in an APS International or Member Exhibition. Work must not have been created under supervision, copied from other artists or publications, or created using AI. Framing is required; if a mat is used, it must be white or off-white. Artwork must be ready to hang with flat hooks and strong wire (no saw-tooth hangers). All entries must be available for sale with prices set at submission and not subject to change. The Burke Arts Council will accept payment for sold paintings and take a 30% commission.

Cash awards include: First Place $1,000, Second Place $750, Third Place $500, 4 Exceptional Merit Awards $150 each, Mary Robinson/Ella McQuire Award $100, 4 Honorable Mention Awards $100 each, and People's Choice Award $125. Submit high-quality JPEG images at least 1920 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images must show only the artwork without visible matting, frames, or background.
