About This Call
Since 2002, the City of Sheridan Public Arts Committee has invited artists from across the country to participate in the On Loan Program. Submissions are due January 31, 2024. You may submit up to five pieces of art. Sculptures will be displayed outdoors year-round in the various weather conditions of Wyoming and must be submitted accordingly.
SPAC will jury the work and inform artists by February 25, 2024. Accepted art must be delivered to Sheridan between April 15 and May 31 (weather permitting), unless alternative arrangements are made with the Committee. Sculptures will be on display from arrival in 2024 until some date in 2025 (or from the time the piece is installed). If your work is accepted, SPAC will pay a $1,000 honorarium per piece. SPAC has ultimate say and full discretion on placement of the sculptures.
Sculptures must be sufficiently durable with a minimum height of 16 inches. Fragile, dangerous, or inappropriate works will not be accepted. As part of the loan agreement, your sculpture will be available for sale and if sold, SPAC will earn a 25% commission on the sale. Applicants must submit 3 to 6 images per artwork. Open to all artists residing in the US.
