2024 Fine Art Student Juried Exhibition

This exhibition serves as a showcase for the Sinclair Community College Art Department and honors the student body's artistic achievements. Works will be selected by outside juror Cynthia Hayes, who will also award Best of Show, 2nd, and 3rd place honors. Hayes is an MFA, Art and Design First Year Program Director and teaching faculty at the Peck School of the Arts at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, specializing in drawing, figure drawing, color theory, and 2D design.

The exhibition runs March 19–April 9, 2024, in the Burnell R. Roberts Triangle Gallery and other gallery spaces in Building 13, as well as online at www.sinclaircollegeartgalleries.org and on Instagram and Facebook @sinclaircollegeartgalleries. Accepted artwork drop-off is March 12–13, 2024, 9am–5:30pm at Gallery Office, Rm 13401. An open house reception is scheduled for March 21, 2024, 4:30pm–6pm in Building 13, 4th Floor Atrium. Artwork pick-up is April 10–11, 2024, 9am–5:30pm.

Eligibility: Entrants must have taken art classes at Sinclair Community College during the 2023-24 academic year. Work must be produced after March 2, 2023, and not previously exhibited in the student exhibition. All work must be original and created as a direct result of a studio class at Sinclair Community College. Students may enter up to 5 works in the following media: painting (oil & acrylic), drawing (wet & dry media), sculpture (non-functional), printmaking, photography (including digital), ceramics, or collage. All 2-D work must be ready to hang; works on paper must be under glass and properly wired. Paintings and wall sculptures must be wired and ready for hanging. Photography must be mounted and matted, under glass, on white archival mounting board with minimum frame size 11" x 14" and minimum 3" white border. All 3-D images should be photographed against a neutral backdrop unless an installation shot. Submissions accepted February 1–15, 2024, until 11:59pm via CaFÉ. Notifications sent February 26, 2024, via email.
