About This Call
This is an international juried online competition open to all artists 18 years of age and older working in oil and acrylic mediums. Both NOAPS members and non-members may apply. A total of 200 artworks will be accepted into the show and eligible for awards.
Artwork must be original two-dimensional paintings completed in the last three years, working exclusively in oil and/or acrylic paints. Artists may use their own photos as reference materials but not photos from other sources. No mixed media, painted giclee prints, digital or photographic reproductions, artwork copied from other artists, or work created in an instructional setting are eligible. There is no minimum or maximum size requirement. Only one application per artist is permitted, with a maximum of 5 works per entry.
Award prizes include: Best of Show $1,000; Second Place $500; Third Place $300; Best Landscape, Best Still Life, Best People, Best Use of Light & Color, Most Innovative, and Narrative Excellence ($200 each); Ten Awards of Excellence ($100 each); and Ten Merit Awards (1-year NOAPS membership valued at $52). Certificates are provided only to award-winning artists. Selected paintings will be showcased on NOAPS.org, in the NOAPS Blog, and on NOAPS Social Media. Entry fees are non-refundable. Digital files must be submitted in JPEG format, at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge, and no larger than 30 MB. Images should show only the artwork with no visible matting, frames, or background. For questions, contact Patricia Tribastone at [email protected].
