2024 Fall Auction

This is a members-only exhibition and auction hosted by Salmagundi. All mediums are accepted, and artists may submit two works for consideration.

Artwork Requirements: Outside dimensions of frames may not exceed 36 inches on the longest side. Sculptures must be less than 30 inches in any direction and weigh no more than 40 lbs. Works must be professionally displayed with wire for hanging. All works under glass must use plexi-glass. Artists are responsible for providing high-quality images with accurate representation of both unframed and framed work. Image files must be original JPEG format, at least 1900 pixels on the longest edge, with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Crop images to show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background.

Submission and Auction Details: Entry deadline is September 9, 2024. Entry fees are non-refundable and must be submitted by the deadline. Artists can edit entries during the submission period through ShowSubmit but cannot make changes after the deadline. Labels must be filled out completely and legibly, with the top portion attached to the back of the frame and the bottom portion visible from the front. Works not received by the stated dates will not be hung. The opening bid will be 33% of the price set by the artist, rounded up to the nearest bid increment. Bid increments start at $25, increase to $50 if the price is above $500, $100 if above $1,000, and $200 if above $2,000. As these auctions are fundraisers for the Club, 50% of the selling price goes to Salmagundi. There are no protective reserves other than the opening bid. Artists should secure at least one potential bidder from their patrons and supporters. Phone bids are not accepted. Buyers pay for shipping, which will be handled by Live Auctioneers. Works must be removed immediately after the exhibition closes. Out-of-town works will be returned only at the artist's request and expense. A $50 monthly fee will be charged for uncollected works after 30 days; uncollected works after 180 days will be considered abandoned property. For questions, contact Lou Lalli at [email protected].
