2024 Boulder Open Studios Membership & Studio Tour

This call for entry is for both the Open Studios Artist Membership (July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025) and the Open Studios Tour (October 5-6, 12-13, 19-20, 2024). All applications are reviewed and scored by a panel of jurors who will determine the list of artists invited to become members. Approximately 175 artists with the highest scores will also receive invitations to participate in the Open Studios Tour in October 2024. Accepting the Tour invitation is not mandatory; artists may participate in the Membership program without participating in the Tour.

The $38 non-refundable application fee is required with the online application. If accepted for Membership, a Membership agreement and $85 participation fee ($75 for returning members from 2023-2024) must be submitted by May 31, 2024. The 12-month membership includes an Artist Page in the online catalog, placement in a Members' Exhibit, opportunities to participate in Open Studios' Retail Galleries, optional virtual video tour of studio, access to online shops and galleries, sales and marketing training, first-in-line opportunities for corporate art programs, listing in the Art Class Search, paid teaching and outreach residencies, discounts on other Open Studios programs, and ongoing marketing campaigns. Members are required to provide 8 hours of volunteer service by May 31, 2025, or pay $17 per hour for unworked hours.

Tour artists must participate during the first two weekends of October and have the option to participate the third weekend, showing both Saturday and Sunday. Tour artists must participate at an art studio location in Boulder County and are required to display art-making equipment and provide education about their artistic process. The 2024 Tour participation fee is $197 in addition to the Membership fee, totaling $282 ($272 for returning members). Tour artists must contribute 10% of gross art sales from the Tour to Open Studios by December 31, 2024, and provide 12 hours of volunteer service by May 31, 2025, or pay the equivalent fee. A Preview Exhibit will be held at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder prior to the first Tour weekend, showcasing one piece from each Tour artist.
