2024 Berkeley Art Center Juried Members Exhibition

The Berkeley Art Center invites artists living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area to submit their best works in any media to this open call. Artworks of any theme will be considered. Submitting is free for current members. New and renewing members can sign up at a sliding scale of $15–$55.

Recent artworks in all media are welcome. The exhibition will feature "small works" with a size limit of 30 inches in any direction, including frames. Freestanding sculpture may be up to 48 inches tall and no more than 24 inches in any other dimension; BAC will provide pedestals. A short artist statement or project statement is required. Works must be ready to hang, dry, and framed where appropriate. Pieces with special hanging requirements should include hardware and clear, typed instructions. Artists must provide all necessary equipment for sound and video works. Work must have the artist's name clearly written on back unless the nature of the work makes it impossible.

Up to three Juror's Awards will be chosen to receive a one-on-one studio visit with the juror via Zoom, and a special Audience Award will be announced at the exhibition closing. Jurors are PJ Gubatina Policarpio, a curator, educator and community organizer with over 10 years of experience in arts and culture, and Juan Omar Rodriguez, an assistant curator at the San José Museum of Art. Accepted artists will be notified May 2, 2024. Drop-off dates are May 13-17, 2024, 11am–5pm by appointment. Exhibition dates are May 25–July 6, 2024. Eligibility is limited to greater Northern California Bay Area residents who are current members of Berkeley Art Center.
