2024 Assemblage: A Juried Exhibit of Mosaics & Collage

2024 Assemblage is a juried exhibition of mosaic and collage artwork open to Hawaiʻi-based artists. The exhibition runs July 5-25, 2024 at Wailoa Center in Hilo.

Eligibility: Open to any media (2D, 3D, video, etc.) within the genre of mosaic and collage. Artwork must have been created in the past two years and cannot have been previously exhibited at Wailoa Center. No reproductions or AI-generated or assisted art will be accepted. 2D works must not exceed 7' tall x 9' wide; 3D works must not exceed 10' tall. Artwork with sensitive subject matter (nudity, offensive religious or political statements, violence) may be juried out due to the State Parks facility. All accepted work must be gallery quality and installation ready.

Submission Details: Entry deadline is June 14, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee is $15 per submission (non-refundable), with a maximum of five entries per artist. Artists must submit 1-5 artwork samples digitally via CAFE portfolio (maximum file size 5 MB). Hawaii Island full-time students (grade school through college) receive a free first entry using code 'HIStudent'. Artist notification is June 17, 2024. Artwork drop-off at Wailoa Center is Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Off-island artists must ship work by Friday, June 28, 2024 and are responsible for shipping costs plus a $10 handling fee and prepaid return label. Artwork pick-up is Friday, July 26, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; off-island works will be shipped by July 29.

Jurors: Tami Macala (Mosaic) and Ken Charon (Collage). Monetary prizes will be awarded. Opening reception is July 5, 2024, 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Accepted works must be for sale; 80% of sales goes to the artist and 20% goes to Hawaiʻi Island Art Alliance. Contact: (808) 933-0416 or [email protected].
