2024 Art Ability at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital

Art Ability is dedicated to creating community awareness of cognitive and physical disabilities, encouraging people with disabilities to reach beyond their limitations and find fulfillment and inspiration through art. The program provides positive role models for people with disabilities while increasing their access to the arts and developing new markets for artists with disabilities to gain recognition for their technical skill and artistic vision.

The annual exhibit and sale will be displayed at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital in Malvern, Pennsylvania, from November 3, 2024 to January 26, 2025, open to the public during the hospital's visiting hours. The event will kick off with a ticketed preview party and fundraising dinner on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Artists may submit up to 6 separate works of art for consideration. There is no entry fee. Eligible artists must have a physical, cognitive, visual, or hearing disability, and work must have been created after the onset of disability and within the last five years. Original work only; reproduction prints will not be accepted. All works must be for sale and cannot have been previously exhibited in Art Ability.

Acceptable media include painting, watercolor, drawing, fine printmaking, photography, mixed media, sculpture (under 25 lbs.), jewelry, fine crafts, and functional art. No dimension should be less than 13" or more than 48" including frame, and each piece cannot exceed 25 lbs. in weight. All flat works on paper, cardboard, or delicate surfaces must be protected with Plexiglas and framed with proper wiring. Canvas must be on sturdy stretcher bars with finished edges.
