2023 Valdosta National: Change of Weather

The Valdosta National 2023, titled "Change of Weather," is the 35th annual all-media exhibition hosted by the Valdosta State University Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery in Valdosta, Georgia. The exhibition explores climate change and its impact on humans, ecology, the environment, and our future. The theme is intentionally open and broad to welcome diverse artistic responses to the topic.

Eligibility and Requirements: Open to all artists over 18 living in the United States. All work must have been completed in the last 5 years and be original (no giclées or reproductions). Work previously shown at the Dedo Maranville Gallery will not be considered. Valdosta State University faculty and staff are ineligible. Submissions should include 1-3 images and/or 1 video, along with an artist statement and CV. Entry fee is $10.00. All 2-D work must be framed with plexi-glass and a hanging wire (no saw-tooth hangers or glass). Paintings must be gallery wrapped with 1.5" edges without additional framing. Images submitted must accurately represent the artwork. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the exhibition.

Awards and Exhibition: $1,500.00 in prizes will be distributed by the jurors. Exhibition dates are January 17 – February 7. Artwork will be insured while in the gallery (deductible may apply) but not during transit. Artwork may be for sale with no gallery sales commission.
