About This Call

The Valdosta National 2023, hosted by the Valdosta State University Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery in Valdosta, Georgia, is the 35th annual all-media exhibition exploring climate change and its impact on humans, ecology, the environment, and our future. The theme "Change of Weather" welcomes broad responses to the topic. The exhibition runs January 17th – February 7th, with $1,500 in prizes distributed by jurors.

Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years or older living in the United States. All work must have been completed in the last 5 years and be original (no giclées or reproductions). Work previously shown at the Dedo Maranville Gallery will not be considered. Valdosta State University faculty and staff are ineligible. Entry fee is $10.00, with a limit of 2 applications per artist. Submit 1-3 images and/or 1 video, along with an artist statement and CV. Images must accurately represent the artwork. Artwork will be insured while in the gallery (deductible may apply) but not during transit. Artists are responsible for shipping costs. Artwork may be for sale with no gallery sales commission. By applying, artists agree that images may be used for educational and promotional purposes by the gallery.

Jurors: Dr. Jason Allard, Professor of Geography and Climatology at Valdosta State University, and Polly Huff, Curator and Finance and Operations Manager at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture. Contact Mark Errol, Interim Gallery Director, at [email protected] or (229) 333-5835.
