2023 Seeing Our Northwoods Photo Contest

The 2023 Seeing Our Northwoods Photo Contest invites amateur, professional, and youth photographers (age 14 and under) to submit photographs taken within 50 miles of Eagle River, Wisconsin. Entrants may submit up to 5 photos across five categories: Northwoods Wildlife, Northwoods Naturescapes, Northwoods Plants and Insects, Northwoods Recreation, and Iconic Northwoods. Entry fees are $20 per photo for amateurs and professionals, and $10 per photo for youth. Drone photographs and watermarked images are not permitted.

Photos must be submitted electronically by May 15, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MDT in .jpg or .jpeg format, not exceeding 5 MB, with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side, and using an sRGB color profile. Judges will select finalists based on creativity, visual and technical merit, and composition. Finalists will be notified by email on June 1, 2023, and must submit an 8x10 print in an 11x14 mat by July 1, 2023 for display at the Warehouse Community Arts Center from July 14 through August 30, 2023.

Category winners receive $100 (professional and amateur) or $25 (youth) first prizes. A public opening ceremony will be held on July 15, 2023 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Category winners will be announced on August 11, 2023. All selected photos are eligible for a "People's Choice" award ($125) voted on by adult members of the public during the opening ceremony and display period. All photos must be picked up by September 2, 2023.
