About This Call
The 2023 New Jersey Arts Annual, hosted by The Noyes Museum of Art of Stockton University and sponsored by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, invites submissions from artists currently living or working in New Jersey. The exhibition theme is "Mother Nature vs Human Nature: The Inequity of Climate Resilience," open to artists working in any medium (visual, audio, video) who wish to explore the climate crisis and the inequality of climate resilience. Artists are encouraged to offer local to global perspectives. The exhibition will be held February 1 – June 24, 2023, with dedicated programs including lectures, podcasts, and panel discussions.
Artists may submit up to six (6) total works in any media. Submissions must include high-quality digital photographs, a current résumé, brief artist biography, artist's statement (no more than 150 words, written in first person), and complete and accurate dimensions of the work. Work must have been completed within the past two years and be available for the complete duration of the exhibition. There is no entry fee. Images must be in JPEG or JPG format (1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB). Video formats accepted include MOV, MP4, WMV, 3GP, AVI, ASF, MPG, M2T, MKV, or M2TS (under 100 MB). Audio must be in AIFF, WAV, XMF, or MP3 format (under 10 MB). Linked media from YouTube, Vimeo, etc. is not accepted.
Jurors include Robert Roesch, Chair of Sculpture at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and Suzanne Horvitz, Founder and Executive Director of Foundation for Today's Art/Nexus. For works selected for the exhibition, submitted images may be used in the catalog, on the Museum website, publications, programs, and for press purposes. Artists may request that images not be retained by the Museum by noting this at the top of their artist's statement. Submissions are made online at www.callforentry.org.
