2023 Macon Mural Festival

The 2023 Macon Mural Festival seeks 3-5 artists to participate in a 3-day event (September 8-10, 2023) in Macon, GA. Each participating artist will receive a prepped wall to complete their mural and a $1,000 stipend. Murals can be open theme but must be approved by the business that sponsors the wall. Thanks to sponsor Triangle Arts, the first 40 artists to apply will have their $25 entry fee reimbursed.

The festival begins with artist arrival on Thursday, September 7th, followed by a kick-off breakfast on Friday, September 8th. Artists will have all day Friday and Saturday to complete their murals, with unveiling at the MMF Celebration Party on Saturday, September 9th. One artist will be selected as featured artist in residence and will receive lodging, the largest wall, a higher stipend for mural materials, and additional press coverage.

Participation Requirements: Selected artists must provide their own transportation and materials. The festival will prep each wall prior to the festival weekend. Artists must apply their own graffiti coating at the end of the festival. Each artist, except the featured artist in residence, must provide their own lodging and meals. Walls will be no larger than 20ft. x 20ft. Invited artists must submit concept drawings after wall/location assignments and return a completed contract and W9. Submit at least 3-5 examples of completed or in-progress murals and concept drawings (or most relevant current work if no mural experience). Include bio, resume, website, and social media if applicable. Eligibility: All artists over 18 who reside in the US. Acceptance notification and wall assignments: May 1st.
