About This Call
Main Street Gallery, located in Downtown Los Angeles's Arts District and Gallery Row, features an industrial style space with high ceilings and modern layout. The gallery focuses on exhibiting contemporary artists through conceptual group shows and solo exhibitions and is featured on the CURATE LA gallery map. The gallery is one of 25 galleries featured on the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk.
Exhibition lengths vary from 4 to 12 weeks for in-gallery shows and 3 to 6 months for online exhibitions. The number of pieces varies depending on the artist's medium and sizes of selected work. Featured artists are invited to attend receptions, and a selected few may be invited for recorded artist interviews or panel discussions. Artists selected for exhibition will be considered for representation by the Dab Art Co. Roster, which offers priority consideration for exhibitions, ongoing professional consultation and portfolio assistance, marketing and promotional assistance, online market inventory, and website profile.
Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 per image (maximum 20 images). An optional video consultation with the gallery director is available for $100. The consultation includes discussion of your submission, website, social media, biography, and artist statement, with feedback designed to improve your online presence. Consultations are conducted via Zoom, limited to 1 hour maximum, and artists receive a recorded copy. You have 90 days to schedule your consultation. Gallery retains a 50% commission on all exhibition sales in gallery and online. Sales remittance to artists will be provided within 5-7 business days after the close of exhibition and receipt of payment. Notifications are generally sent via email within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. Selected artists receive either an "Invited" status for immediate exhibition consideration or "Wait List" status, with waitlisted artists featured in at least one exhibition within the calendar year. All work must be original, unsold work with the artist owning sole copyright. Frames, mats, and wiring must be professional quality and in good condition. 2D artwork selected for exhibition must be ready to hang.
