About This Call
The Center for Photographic Art (CPA) announces the 2023 International Juried Exhibition with over $5,000 in awards. Forty-five juror-selected photographs will be exhibited from December 16, 2023 through January 21, 2024 in the historic gallery in Carmel, California. These photographs will also be featured in an online gallery on the CPA website along with an additional forty-five juror-selected images. An exhibition catalog of the entire gallery and online exhibition will be available for purchase.
The juror is Shana Lopes, PhD, Assistant Curator of Photography at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Awards include: First Place $2,500, Second Place $1,000, Third Place $500, four awards of merit at $250 each, and a People's Choice Award of $150 plus CPA gear voted by the public.
The exhibition is open to all living photographers worldwide over age 18 working in all still photographic media (no video). Any subject matter is eligible. Photographs accepted for previous CPA IJE gallery exhibitions are not eligible. Entry fees are $65 for non-members (3 images) or $45 for members during early submission (July 1 - September 1, 2023), and $75 for non-members or $55 for members during regular entry (September 1 - October 2, 2023). Additional images may be submitted at $10 each for up to 20 total images. Submission period runs Saturday July 1 through Monday, October 2, 2023, 11:59pm Mountain Time. Artists will be notified via email by October 27, 2023. Framed artwork must be delivered to CPA by December 6, 2023. All artwork for gallery display must be ready-to-hang, glazed with acrylic Plexiglas only (no glass), not exceed 30 inches on the long side, and weigh less than 10 pounds. Artwork returns in February 2024.
