About This Call
The 37th Annual Fine Art Market is scheduled for November 30 - December 17, 2023, held in the Main Gallery at the Arvada Center. The Fine Art Market serves as the AC Galleries' annual fundraiser and features more than 100 acclaimed Colorado artists working in a variety of media. Participating artists are both invited and juried. The Arvada Center staff manages all displays and artist sales, which are completed using Square. Artists are required to submit inventory sheets in digital format.
Sales will be split 60/40 between the artist and the Arvada Center. Selected artists will be requested to provide enough items to last for a majority of the sale, with some limited back stock as necessary. Examples include 30-40 functional ceramic pieces, 35-40 jewelry items, 20 matted prints, or 6-9 medium-sized paintings. The sale seeks a variety of price points ranging from affordable gifts ($20 to $100) up through higher-end art/craft ($800 to approximately $2000+). The Market will be arranged like an exhibition with multiple works by each participating artist on display.
Artists and makers from Colorado representing a variety of fine, decorative and functional art and craft are eligible to apply. The application process is for artists who have never participated in Art Market or who have not participated in the past two years. Artists who participated in past Art Markets may be invited to return. The $35 non-refundable jury fee is required to apply. If selected, artists will pay an additional $25 participation fee upon acceptance. Limited entrance fee scholarships are available for artists experiencing economic hardship, BIPOC artists, and LGBTQIA+ artists. Email [email protected] to request a scholarship. Applications are juried by Arvada Center Galleries staff who consider quality of work, price point, similarity to work already in the sale, and the sale's audience for certain types of artwork. Notifications will be emailed by August 25. Artwork drop-off is November 16, with an opening reception on November 30. Unsold artwork pickup is December 22.
Submissions require up to 10 high-resolution digital images (minimum 5) of different pieces, one image per piece. Include technical information for each image: title, medium/description, size in inches (height x length x depth), date created, and sale price. Artist resume/statement or website is optional. All applications must be completed online through CaFE; no paper applications will be considered. Open to all artists over age 18 who currently reside in Colorado. All media are eligible.
