About This Call
The 2023 Hi-Art Exhibition is a combination of virtual and live exhibit in the Tubac Center of the Arts front gallery. Selected award winners will be presented live at the opening reception on Friday, April 7, 2023. The exhibit runs through Sunday, May 1, 2023.
High school students from the Santa Cruz Valley are eligible to apply. Each artist may submit one image of original artwork created during the 2022-2023 school year. Artwork may be for sale with the price determined by the artist; the artist receives 100 percent of the sale and TCA does not take a commission on student art. All wall art, printmaking, drawings, and paintings must be framed and wired for hanging to qualify for inclusion. By applying, artists agree to release the use of images of their artwork and themselves for promotional use by Tubac Center of the Arts.
Senior students are encouraged to apply with a written scholarship application for consideration of a $3,000 college scholarship. Awards include: Best of Show ($350), Award of Excellence ($250), Award of Merit ($175), and Honorable Mention ($150). The entry deadline is Monday, March 20, 2023. Artists will be notified of acceptance the week of April 3, and artwork will be returned to schools the week of May 22.
