About This Call
Main Street Gallery, located in Downtown Los Angeles's Arts District and Gallery Row, is accepting submissions for exhibitions. The gallery features an industrial style with high ceilings and modern layout, and is one of 25 galleries featured on the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk. The gallery's program focuses on exhibiting contemporary artists through conceptual group shows and solo exhibitions.
Exhibition lengths vary from 4 to 12 weeks for in-gallery shows and 3 to 6 months for online exhibitions. The number of pieces displayed depends on the artist's medium and the sizes and shapes of selected work. Featured artists are invited to attend receptions, and a selected few may be invited for recorded artist interviews or panel discussions. Artists selected for exhibition will also be considered for representation by the Dab Art Co. Roster, which offers priority consideration for future exhibitions, professional consultation, portfolio assistance, marketing and promotional support, and online market inventory and website profile.
Submissions require a minimum of 3 images and a maximum of 20 images, along with a biography and/or artist statement, artist website link, and links to at least one social media platform. The entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with an additional $5 per image up to 20 total images. An optional video consultation with the gallery director is available for $100, conducted via Zoom with a maximum duration of 1 hour. All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own the sole copyright. For 2D artwork, pieces must be ready to hang with professional quality frames, mats, and wiring. Gallery retains a 50% commission on all exhibition sales. Sales remittance to artists is provided within 5-7 business days after the close of exhibition and receipt of payment. Notifications are generally sent via email within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. Selected artists receive either an "Invited" status for immediate exhibition placement or "Wait List" status, with waitlisted artists featured in at least one exhibition within the calendar year.
