2023 Fraser Mountain Mural Festival

The 2023 Fraser Mountain Mural Festival takes place August 4-6, 2023, presented by the Town of Fraser and the Fraser Public Arts Committee. Artists will compete by producing work on 8ft x 8ft primed panels. Each accepted artist receives a $500 stipend to help with expenses. The festival is a platform for local, Front Range, and national artists to compete for cash prizes while generating creative energy and raising awareness for The Fraser Center for Creative Arts.

This year's theme is "We come in peace": Celebrating funky Fraser's legacy of "Leaving Planet Earth" when you enter the community, and the peaceful co-existence of residents and visitors who all love the special mountain valley. The festival schedule includes artist check-in and meet & greet on Thursday, August 3rd; painting begins Friday, August 4th at 9:00am with DJ; painting continues Saturday, August 5th at 9:00am with DJ and live music, with murals completed at 4:30pm and an award ceremony at 6:00pm; and Sunday, August 6th features continued public viewing and a 5:00pm online auction closing.

Applicants should submit images of past work and a tentative design for the mural. Instagram and website links are appreciated. Artist statements and history are welcome but not required. Eligibility requires accomplished muralists willing to work outside in variable mountain weather, interact with visitors, and attend the Saturday night awards event. Entry fee is $25.00. Submit 4-10 images of your work.
