2023 Foto Forum Santa Fe Photography Award

Foto Forum Santa Fe announces an open call for the 2023 Foto Forum Santa Fe Photography Award, an annual international competition open to emerging and established artists. The award supports photographers by providing an opportunity to have their work reviewed by outside jurors and the organization's Executive Director Sage Paisner, offering the winner a chance to exhibit in Santa Fe and receive financial support for production.

Photographers may submit up to twelve images from a related body of work ready for exhibition. Jurors Ed and Deanna Templeton will select the winner based on creativity, cohesion, maturity, and quality of individual photographs. The selected winner will work with Executive Director Sage Paisner to curate the final exhibition, which may include works not submitted with the application. First Place Award includes a two-month solo exhibition in the Santa Fe gallery located in the Railyard Art District, $1,000 cash prize, $1,000 gift certificate to Visions Photo Lab, and $500 stipend for delivery and return of work. Second Place Award includes $500 gift certificate to Visions Photo Lab, placement of 3 prints in the gallery art racks, and a two-month online gallery show featured on the website.

Entry fee is $25 for early bird entries until January 25, 2023, $35 until February 17, 2023, and $45 for late entries until March 23, 2023. Students, seniors, and Foto Forum Santa Fe members may email [email protected] for a 20% discount coupon. All applicants must submit a portfolio of 6 to 12 photographic images, a C.V., and an Artist Statement. Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years or older. Results will be announced in mid-April, with the exhibition opening June 2, 2023.
