About This Call
The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County invites visual artists residing in Palm Beach County to submit work for its 2023 Biennial exhibition, opening April 21, 2023. The exhibition runs through June 24, 2023. The 2023 Biennial is juried by Juana Williams, Associate Curator of African-American Art at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Eligibility is open to individual artists or artist collaborators who live, work, study, or maintain a studio in Palm Beach County. There is no entry fee. Artists may submit up to three artworks per entry, with only one entry per artist. Artwork may be any medium including photography, video, works on paper, sculptural installations, crafts, and textiles. Submissions must include three images (jpg or pdf, no larger than 5 MB per file) along with artwork information (Title, Date, Dimensions, Medium, Edition, Insurance Value). Submissions are accepted only through the CaFE online platform.
The guest Juror/Curator will select three prize winners: First Prize $2,000, Second Prize $1,000, and Third Prize $500. A People's Choice award of $500 will be determined by visitor votes throughout the exhibition. Selected artists will be notified by February 24, 2023. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of artwork. Artwork will be insured on premises if a list of titles, descriptions, and values is provided prior to delivery; artwork is not insured in transit. Selected participants must sign a loan agreement and submit a W-9 for prize payment purposes.
