2023 Coors Western Art Exhibit and Sale

The 2023 Coors Western Art Exhibit and Sale is a nationally-recognized contemporary Western art exhibition curated by Denver-based curator Rose Fredrick. The exhibit will feature up to 75 fine artists, with 10-20 new artists selected each year. The show accepts fine art in any media (2-D or 3-D) that reflects the West as it is today or investigates a contemporary idea or depiction of the West. Submissions must include a minimum of 3 and maximum of 10 images of original work with Western subject matter or spirit. Accepted media include paintings, prints, sculptures, photographs, and fine art digital prints on archival paper. Jewelry, furniture, saddles, pottery, crafts, offset prints, and giclee reproductions are not accepted. Each image must include title, price, medium, and size. Work should be current (created within the last year) and not previously shown in a retail setting or offered for sale in a gallery in Colorado (exceptions apply for sculpture). The application fee is $35.00. Results will be sent by June 1, 2022.

Accepted artists will exhibit up to six works total: three major works and three small works (roughly 144 square inches or smaller for 2-D and 12 x 12 x 12 inches for 3-D). Small works will be part of a silent auction during opening events. All artwork must remain on display for the entire exhibition duration and be available for purchase with no pre-sales allowed. Artists receive a 70% commission for the Coors Western Art Exhibit or 60% for the Club Artists exhibition. The curator will determine the best fit for each artist's work. Artists are responsible for shipping artwork to and from the show; insurance is provided while artwork is on site. The exhibition runs January 2-22, 2023, during the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO.
