2023 AWA Annual Online Juried Show

The 2023 AWA Annual Online Juried Show is open to all AWA Members in good standing. Entries may be representational or abstract work in drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, or sculpture. Work must be original; 2D works must have been completed within the last two years with no required timeframe for 3D works. Works do not have to be for sale, and sold works may be submitted by entering NFS in the entry form. All work entered must not have been accepted for a previous AWA national juried museum competition or online juried show.

Acceptable mediums include: painting (oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, egg tempera, encaustic, mixed mediums, batik); drawing (conte crayon, colored pencil, graphite, pen & ink, scratchboard, original hand-pulled prints); sculpture (cast metal, fabricated metal, stone, glass, wood, fired permanent mediums such as terra cotta, stoneware, porcelain, earthenware); and mixed media using above materials. Not acceptable: craft, jewelry, fiber, fabric, photography, video, digital prints including giclee, or work containing computer-generated elements. Maximum three entries per artist; maximum one piece of artwork per accepted artist will be juried into the online show.

Applications may be submitted from Saturday, July 15, 2023 through Thursday, August 31, 2023, with finalists announced by Monday, September 18, 2023. Submit original high-quality JPEG image files at least 1920 pixels on the longest edge with maximum 30 MB file size. Crop images to show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background. Ensure images are oriented correctly and high resolution before uploading.

Awards include: Grand Prize $2,000; Second Prize $1,500; Third Prize $1,000; AWA President's Award (2) $250 each; Kathleen J. Smith Humanity in Art Award $500; The Power of the Feminine Award $500; First Prize Awards by Membership Category (4) $500 each; Outstanding Achievement Awards (6) $250 each; Award of Merit (6) $100 each; plus ad, event, and subscription awards from Fine Art Connoisseur and donated merchandise awards. By submitting, accepted images will be displayed on AWA website, Facebook page, and other social and print media. Artists retain copyright to their images. All membership and entry fees are non-refundable.
