2023 Arts at the Port Fine Art Show

The annual Juried Fine Art Exhibition, Arts at the Port, is the crown jewel of the Anacortes Arts Festival. The show runs July 29 - August 6, 2023, and is housed in the Port of Anacortes Transit Shed Event Center, a rustic waterfront setting at the north end of the Festival. The mission of this exhibition is to showcase regional fine art to the Festival audience (estimated at 90,000). The exhibition displays 1–5 pieces from selected artists working in both 2D and 3D media. Arts at the Port also includes the Allen Family Invitational Gallery.

Juror Susan Parke, Director Emeritus of the Museum of Northwest Art, will lead the selection process supported by the Festival Curatorial Team that includes artists and arts professionals. There is no juried theme in 2023, and no size restrictions for entries. Artists will be eligible for up to $9,000 in awards, including $2,000 for Best of Show selected by the Juror.

The show is open to regional artists from Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Idaho. Eligible work includes 2D media (drawing, painting, mixed media, original prints, photography, digitally generated art, and video) and 3D media (sculpture, fine crafts including fiber, ceramics, metals, glass, wood, basketry, jewelry, and installation). Installation and video artists must submit images of their work along with a written or drawn proposal documenting what they propose to create. All accepted work must be for sale, created by the applicant, and ready for display upon arrival. Wall-mounted pieces must have adequate hangers and/or wire. Three-dimensional work needs adequate installation instruction if it requires more than a standard pedestal. Entry fee is $35.00. Application deadline is March 14, 2023, with notification by April 4, 2023.
