2023 Artists of the Upstate Juried Exhibition

The 2023 Artists of the Upstate Juried Exhibition is a local art exhibition presented by Artisphere, supported by a grant from the Metropolitan Arts Council. The exhibition is open to artists 18+ living in Upstate South Carolina (Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Pickens, Oconee, Greenwood, Laurens, Cherokee, Union, Abbeville counties). Entries must be original works of art completed within the last three years. The juried exhibition seeks to recognize the outstanding quality and diversity of work being generated by artists of Upstate South Carolina and is not judged in media categories.

A non-refundable entry fee of $40 enables each artist to enter up to two works. Submit one digital image per work in .jpg format not exceeding 5 MB, correctly oriented. The deadline to apply is March 27, 2023. Notification of acceptance will be emailed on April 12, 2023. Accepted work must be dropped off on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 9am–noon at the tent on Graham Plaza (in front of the Peace Center, 300 S Main St, Greenville, SC 29601). The exhibition runs May 12–14, 2023 outdoors on Graham Plaza. An awards ceremony will be held Friday, May 12, 2023. Accepted work can be picked up on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 9am–noon. Work will be featured on the Artisphere website and social media channels during and after Artisphere 2023.

Four cash prizes will be awarded: Best in Show ($1,000), 2nd Place ($750), 3rd Place ($500), and Merit Award ($250). The juror is Kate Ledbetter, Executive Director of Redux Contemporary Art Center.
