2023 Arizona Aqueous XXXVII

A national juried exhibition for water-based pigments on paper. Eligible work includes paper constructions, paper sculpture, paper collage, cut paper, mobiles, two or three-dimensional wall pieces, and installations. Artists are urged to enter innovative work, whether representational or abstract. Work must have been completed within the last 24 months and cannot have been previously displayed at TCA. Giclee reproductions are not permitted. All work must be original and entirely the creation of the artist.

Entry fee is $36 ($32 with TCA Member discount), with an additional $5 per image fee up to 4 entries ($3 each with member discount). Up to four works may be entered for consideration via digital images in jpg format only. Juror is Jackson Boelts, Professor Emeritus of Art at the University of Arizona. Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), Juror's Award ($500), Award of Excellence ($250), Award of Merit ($100), and two Honorable Mentions ($75 each). The exhibition runs January 6 – February 20, 2023, with an opening reception on Friday, January 6 at 5-7pm. Jury notifications will be sent the week of November 21, 2022.

All artwork must arrive ready to hang. If framed, work must be suitably matted (white, black or neutral colors preferred), simply framed, and firmly wired with no sawtooth hangers. All work must be for sale; TCA retains a 40% commission. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA. Unsold work will be shipped back after the exhibition closes. Artists must provide a barcoded preprinted prepaid shipping label for return of artwork. No styrofoam peanuts. No art may be removed from the exhibit prior to the close of the exhibition on February 20, 2023, including sold art. Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years or older residing in the US.
