2022 TPS National Photography Award

Texas Photographic Society (TPS) is a non-profit organization founded in 1984 to celebrate the photographic arts, inspire creative development, and provide opportunities for artists to engage with an international photography community. The 2022 TPS National Photography Award is open to artists residing in the United States who have a consistent body of photographic work. The recipient will receive a solo exhibition at Sabine Street Studios during FotoFest 2022 in Houston, Texas, a $2,000 cash prize, and inclusion in the Biennial publication guide. The exhibition will be juried by Marni Shindelman. The juror may select up to 10 TPS National Photography Award Finalists for additional recognition.

Submissions must include ten digital JPG images (minimum 1200 pixels on the longest side, maximum 5 MB) and an artist's statement of up to 200 words. For each image, provide the title and the process (medium) used. This call is open to all subject matter, aesthetic approaches, and photographic processes. Two-dimensional work is preferred, and submissions from artists of all levels are encouraged. All photographic-based art is welcome, including digital, silver, and alternative processes. Current members of the TPS Board of Directors are not eligible.

Entry fee is $45 for non-members or $35 for TPS Members. The deadline for entry is April 26, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. The award recipient will be announced May 16, 2022. Work is due at Sabine Street Studios in Houston by September 9, 2022. The exhibition opens September 24, 2022 and closes November 6, 2022. If your work is accepted, you will print, frame, and ship your images to the exhibition venue. TPS will pay for return shipping within the United States.
