2022 Pacific States Biennial North American

The Pacific States Biennial North American is a juried printmaking exhibition established by the Art Department Print Studio at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo in 1982. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older presently residing anywhere on the North American continent, its islands, and outlying US territories. The exhibition is hosted in conjunction with the Campus Center Gallery with support from the Student Activities Council.

Original work in all printmaking media and digital/traditional hybrid prints are eligible. Photography and digital reproductions of original works will not be accepted. Works must be completed within the last 2 years. Paper size dimensions must not exceed 30" x 40". Submissions consist of 1-2 jpeg images. The entry fee is $35.00. Selection is based on juror review of submitted images. Accepted work must be sent without mat or frame in a reusable mailing tube or flat package by September 19, 2022. All work in the exhibition must be available for the duration of the exhibition.

The juror is Yuji Hiratsuka, a professor of printmaking at Oregon State University. Awards include a first place artist residency at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo covering travel, lodging, per diem, and honorarium, as well as Purchase Awards and Juror Awards. The exhibition opens October 28, 2022 and closes December 31, 2022. Email notification of acceptance will be sent September 5, 2022.
