About This Call

The 2022 MidSummer Art Celebration 5th Annual All Media Juried Exhibit is open to all Hawaii-based artists working in 2D and 3D in all mediums and styles. Artists may submit up to five entries, with a $15 non-refundable entry fee per submission. Work samples may include 1-5 images, up to 5 audio files, and up to 5 video files (videos incur a $3 surcharge). The submission deadline is Friday, May 13 at 5:59 PM. Artist notification will occur on Monday, May 16.

The exhibition opens Friday, June 3 with an open house from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and closes Thursday, June 30. Artists must pick up work on Friday, July 1 between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Artwork may be dropped off at Wailoa Center on Saturday, May 28 between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. For Kona artists, pickup is available at Donkey Mill on Friday, May 27 at 10:00 AM. Off-island work must be received by Friday, May 27 and shipped to: Wailoa Center, 200 Piopio St., Hilo, Hawaii. Artists are financially responsible for shipping costs and must include a prepaid return label and $10 handling fee with packages.

Works should be for sale, with HIAA charging a 20% commission on all sales. Monetary prizes will be awarded. The exhibition is juried by the Hawaii Island Art Alliance (HIAA) Board of Directors.
