2022 Mid-Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition

The 2022 Mid-Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition invites watercolor artists to submit original paintings for juried selection. The exhibition will be held June 11-July 23, 2022 at The Gallery at CCBC Catonsville Center for the Arts.

Eligibility: All Baltimore Watercolor Society (BWS) Signature and Life members may enter regardless of residence. Other artists must be 18 years or older and reside in Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or West Virginia. Artwork must be original watermedia paintings on paper or equivalent surfaces completed within the last five years and not previously exhibited in prior BWS Mid-Atlantic exhibitions. No class or workshop paintings, copies, or likenesses of other artists' work are permitted. Compositions based on photographs must use photos taken by or belonging solely to the artist. Paintings must be framed in wood or metal with plain white, cream, or light gray mats (optional colored liner permitted). No side of the painting visible within the mat can be less than 10 inches, and frames must not exceed 48 inches in either dimension.

Submission Details: Artists may submit one or two images; only one entry will be selected for exhibition. Entry fee is $35 for non-members or $30 for BWS members (with coupon code), with an optional $5 catalog donation. The entry deadline is April 11, 2022. Selected artists will be notified by May 10, 2022. Delivery of selected works is June 6, 2022 (10 AM-2 PM in person, or by June 1 if shipped). A workshop will be held June 7-9, and a reception and awards presentation on June 25, 2022 (2 PM-4 PM). Juror Kathleen Giles will select paintings for exhibition. Awards include Gold Medal ($1,500), Silver Medal ($1,200), Bronze Medal ($1,000), and additional sponsored awards totaling $15,000 from last year. All entrants will receive a limited edition catalog. Paintings must be for sale with a 25% commission to BWS.
